Itinerary
June 15 
Arrive in Italy and settle in at Palace Hotel on beautiful Lake Como. Just half an hour from bustling Milan, Lake Como is a jewel-like oasis of tranquility, a stunning combination of lush Mediterranean foliage and snowy alpine peaks. We will get to know our guide, have a brief introduction to the program, and enjoy a delicious welcome dinner at the hotel's restaurant.
June 16
Lake Como is the perfect venue for learning the sport of rowing. Our time at Lake Como begins with morning rowing instruction at Canottieri Lecco from Josh Crosby and Italian instructors. In the afternoon we take a guided tour of Lake Como. Enjoy lunch and dinner on your own at some of the area's many fine restaurants. Our local guides will offer suggestions.
June 17
This morning is devoted to developing rowing skills and touring the lake. We have a light lunch, and later in the afternoon we set out on a hiking adventure into the alpine hills above Lake Como. Enjoy dinner on your own.
June 18
After an early breakfast at the hotel, we drive two and half hours through the Italian countryside to Torino. Wel have a light lunch at the Cerea Club in Torino, followed by afternoon rowing on the famous Po River. In the evening we enjoy a wonderful dinner in one of Torino's historic rowing clubs. Our hotel for the night is the Grand Hotel Sitea.
June 19
Following an early breakfast at the hotel, we spend an exciting morning rowing on the Po River. We return to the hotel to change and check out, and then we leave for a tour of FISA headquarters in Torino. Lunch is at the Cerea Club.
After lunch we drive to Florence; along our route we stop for a wine tasting. In Florence we visit Canottieri Firenze and enjoy an apero served at the club on the Arno River, just in front of Ponte Vecchio. Enjoy dinner on your own at one of the city's many excellent restaurants. For the next three nights our home is Plaza Hotel Lucchesi.
June 20
After breakfast at the hotel, we have a morning rowing session on Florence's beautiful Arno River. A group lunch is provided at the rowing club, and then our afternoon is free in Florence.
June 21
This morning we travel to Panzano by private bus. In Panzano we ride Italian touring bikes to the winery Castello di Monsanto
for a tasting. We continue our bike tour, enjoying a Tuscan picnic along the road. In the afternoon we visit the winery Panizzi for another wine tasting. Tonight, get your chef's aprons
ready. We return to our hotel for a cooking lesson with our private
chef, who will help us make a delicious traditional Tuscan meal. You will work for 2 hours preparing a Tuscan
menu; then you will have a dinner served to you with the products of your work and
the appropriate wines.
June 22
After an early wake-up, we head to the Pisa Airport and return to the US.
