How long has G2 Adventures been in business?
G2 Adventures officially began operations in 2006, but the company's two founders and operators have, between them, almost twenty years of experience in the travel industry.
What's included in the trip price?
The trip price for each G2 Adventure generally include the following: All Entrance Fees; Accommodations; Meals (as described in the itinerary); Services of Expert Guides who will accompany you; Services of a g2 Adventures Trip Leader who will accompany you; Land Transportation; Luggage Handling; All Internal Flights and other Transportation as described in the Itinerary; Airport Transfers; Taxes (unless specified otherwise in the Itinerary); and Gratuities.
The price does not include the following: Visas; Personal Expenses (mini-bar, laundry, telecommunications, alcoholic beverages, etc.); Travel Insurance; Excursions not included in the Itinerary; any Lodging or Meals not described as part of the Itinerary.
Does G2 Adventures have a catalogue?
We do not have a catalogue for the simple reason that full-color catalogues are very expensive to print and mail--and this cost is ultimately paid for by the people who sign up for trips. We pass our savings on to you: by not printing catalogues, G2 Adventures can offer high-quality trips at a very competitive price.
How large are the groups?
Group size varies by trip, but G2 Adventures always keeps the group sizes small enough that our trips don't overwhelm local landscapes or people. We strive to blend in, rather than stand out, and that can only be accomplished by traveling in small groups. Often our groups are as small as 12 people, and we generally cap groups at 20 people.
What are the accommodations like on a G2 Adventure?
Adventure and comfort don't have to be mutually exclusive. We stay in first-class hotels, lodges and homestays. The accommodations we choose are always safe and clean.
If I want to travel alone, can you find me a roommate, or can I have a private room?
Our prices are always based on double occupancy (two people per room). If you prefer to have a roommate, we can often find someone to pair you with. If we can't find a roommate for you, or if you prefer to have a private room, you will be required to purchase a Single Room Supplement (SRS). Please contact us for details, as the SRS varies per trip.
What should I pack for my trip?
We provide any gear that may be required as part of your adventure, such as bikes and kayaks. We encourage you to bring clothes that will keep you comfortable for the activities included in your trip, such as hiking, biking, and kayaking. We'll send you a detailed packing list after you register. On all of our trips, we strongly discourage you from bringing flashy jewelry and expensive electronics.
For trips that involve hiking, are tennis shoes okay, or should I bring hiking boots?
We recommend lightweight hiking boots. If you choose to buy a new pair of leather boots, we strongly encourage you to thoroughly break them in before you begin your trip.
What is the privacy policy of G2 Adventures?
Our relationship with you is extremely important to us, and we take the responsibility of maintaining your privacy very seriously. We never share our mailing list with companies that will try to sell you products or services. We do not share your telephone number, email address, mailing address, or billing information with any company.
Can you accommodate special dietary needs?
We can provide vegetarian meal options, and we can accommodate other dietary needs such as a nut allergy. Just make sure you mention your dietary needs on the registration form when you sign up for the trip.
Will I have free time on my own, or will I be busy the entire trip?
We do pack a lot of adventure and excitement into each trip itinerary, but we also allow for some down-time so you can relax and have time to yourself. Whether you choose to use that time for shopping, napping or reflecting is entirely up to you.
Who are your guides?
We choose guides who have extensive experience in the places where they lead trips and are passionate about those places. They must have a flawless safety record, and they must be able to communicate fluently in English, as well as in the local language.
Are the places you travel dangerous?
The safety of our clients is the number-one concern of G2 Adventures. We take whatever steps we can to make sure that our clients remain safe throughout the duration of their trip. And please bear in mind that most of the places we travel have a violent crime rate far less than that of the Unites States.
We don't pretend that going on an adventure to a developing country involves no danger--of course it does, just as every adventure, and indeed almost every worthwhile activity in life, involves some element of risk.
